Size: 0.8 to 2.2 Metres in Size have been reported in various. mostly Dwarven, Effingetter and Tharwaltian Sources
Natural Occurence: Niderlingen and the Dunkelbruch, to some extent also the areas and rivers around these lands.
Invelvir Frogs are a form of amphibians that can be found in the swamplands of western Midheim, especially in Niderlingen and in the extremely wild and uncharted Dunkelbruch.
They are known to be able to grow up to 2 Meters in size. This incredible size is attributed to habitational danger: when the Habitat of the Frogs is in danger they grow in size tremendously.
They are not known to be poisonous and are in deed sometimes eaten in some areas of Effinget and Tharwalt,
yet they possess dangerous sharp giant teeth, thick hide covered in even thicker mucus and aggression and swarm behaviour that grants them the classification as “Beast”.
Usual Invelvir Frogs grow up to 1 Meter in size, but even these Frogs can be extremely dangerous if treated without the proper respect. They possess some
incredible ranged attacks:
Inverlvir Frogs have some control over Elemental Air magic and hunt by sucking in large amounts of air to catch prey. They mostly eat birds, but sometimes also hunt bigger creatures.
After sucking in the air they can release it as an shock wave like attack creating a terrifying sound that can be heard over great distances.
Due to this these amphibians are sometimes called Thunder Frogs.
Their eyes can glow in the Dark and have been compared to Dwarven Eyes in appearance, while being much more amphibian of course, resulting in the common Tharwalter Insult “Frog Eyed” when talking about Dwarves in an insulting manner.
While they reproduce like other frogs, their colouration is to an extent magical: it changes over the years and sometimes even abruptly.
It is currently unknown how exactly the colouration and patterns change, but the most well accepted theory is that they absorb magic from storms and strong winds by chance.
The Morangi, who are known to domesticate some Beasts of Niderlingen attribute this and the size to a godly connection.
Some reports exist that the Morangi breed Invelvir and other magical Frogs with varying success.
Magical Frogs like the Inverlvir are known to be considered holy in their culture.
Yet, even though or maybe because of their Holyness at least some Morangi Tribes are known to ride Invelvir Frogs into war, which has been Attributed especially by many Dwarves Sources.
